Emergency Aid
The Department of Transitional Assistance provides some
emergency assistance to income-eligible families facing
homelessness and administers the state Transitional
Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TAFDC), food stamp,
and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) programs. The
