LiveJustice Privacy and Security Policy
Privacy and security are very important to LiveJustice. Legal
Assistance Corporation of Central Massachusetts (LACCM) will ensure the
privacy of Web site users at all times, on all parts of the Web site, and
in all interactions. We will not collect information about visitors to our
site unless the visitors consent to provide the information, and any
information we do collect will be kept strictly confidential.
1. Security of Information and Data. LACCM requires that users
give us personal information before using Live Help. LACCM will do
whatever it can to protect any confidential information that you give us
(including your income, Social Security number, and address) from
unauthorized users. Passwords control who has access to your personal
information, and only authorized people will be able to see the
information you give us. In addition, when you submit information to LACCM
using the intake form, steps are taken to prevent anyone from
getting your information. The information is encrypted by Secure
Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. This means that the information is
translated into unreadable code before it is submitted to LACCM and then decoded by
LACCM.
2. Confidentiality of Communications. The information you give
the legal advocate through the Live Help service will be kept
confidential. Strict ethical guidelines prevent LACCM attorneys,
paralegals, and support staff from disclosing the information you give us
to anyone not affiliated with LACCM. The attorney-client privilege
protects the confidentiality of communications between lawyers and their
clients, and information collected through this program will be treated
the same as if you met with a lawyer in person. Please do not give anyone
your account number or private password; this helps to ensure that only
authorized parties have access to private communications.
3. Sharing Personal Information With Third Parties. LACCM does
not sell or trade any personally identifiable information about its
clients to third parties.
4. Applicability to Other Web sites. The LiveJustice Web site
contains links to other sites. We have no control over the content or
privacy policies of those sites. Please be aware when you are leaving our
site and be sure to read the privacy statements of every Web site that
collects personally identifiable information.
5. Use of Email Address. LACCM may send e-mail to you once you
register on the site. LACCM will not sell your email address to any
third party. On occasion, however, LACCM may collect additional
information from you through survey forms.
6. Changes to Privacy & Security Policy. If we change our
Privacy & Security Policy, we will post a notice of those changes on
our Web site so that you are always aware of what information we collect,
how we use it and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
